PRIME Projects involving Open Source DataTurbine

PRAGMA provides an international testbed for developing and evaluating cyberinfrastructure Middleware and is currently extending this testbed to include sensor networks. PRAMGA has made their international grid resources available to the OSDT Initiative and have been key partners in testing global-scale DataTurbine applications. In addition, individual PRAGMA partners have installed DataTurbine for their local research projects. PRAGMA facilitates student research activities in partnership with the NSF-sponsored PRIME program (prime.ucsd.edu). In summer 2009, the OSDT Initiative mentored 2 students in collaboration with PRAGMA and PRIME. Brian McMahon integrated DataTurbine into the tsunami warning system in partnership with researchers at the University of Hyderabad, India. Michael Nekrasov integrated DataTurbine into an underwater infrared and fluorescence camera system in Taiwan.
