• Introduction

One of the requirements for running an application on the real Grid is the ability to view system and job status across the boundaries of computing systems and grids. System monitoring software can help the application drivers and grid administrators to spot the state of job and located the fail or left-over job easily across the Grid.

• Goal
  • Create a portable interface between middleware & current monitoring softwares
  • Create a portable interface for data extraction
• Proposed Solution
  • Use portable data format, such as GLUE schema, for data exchange.
  • Use standardize interface, such as WSRF, for data extraction
• Current status
  • From early discussions between TeraGrid team and PRAGMA team, we agreed to start with portable data format level first.
